SOUTH HEMPSTEAD, NY — A man is in critical condition after Nassau police say he suffered head injuries during a reported robbery at a BP gas station in South Hempstead.

Officers were called to the Grand Avenue station around 5:30 a.m. Saturday after a robbery was reported. Investigators say the man was hurt at the scene and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he remained hospitalized in critical condition.
