CLOQUET, MN — A 17-year-old boy has been charged in connection with an armed robbery at a Cloquet gas station that police say happened in late August.
The Cloquet Police Department says the case stems from a robbery at the Korner Store on Broadway Street on Aug. 29, 2026. Investigators say the store clerk was confronted at gunpoint at about 8:45 p.m. before the suspect fled.
Authorities have not said publicly whether the teen was taken into custody immediately or how investigators identified him.

Police say the robbery took place at the Korner Store, a gas station and convenience store on Broadway Street in Cloquet. The clerk reported being held up with a gun around 8:45 p.m., according to the account released by police.
After the robbery, the suspect ran from the scene. The department has not released a description of the weapon, whether anything was taken, or whether anyone was injured during the incident.

Juvenile court charges include aggravated robbery
The teen is facing one count of aggravated robbery and one count of threats of violence in juvenile court, according to the Cloquet Police Department.

Motion filed to move the case to adult court
Police also said a motion to certify the case to adult court has been filed. That step asks a judge to consider whether the case should leave the juvenile system and be prosecuted in adult court instead.
