Going to All Virginia Choir for the Second Time

An experience shared by Alexander Fagerland about All-Virginia Choir.

Alexander Fagerland is a junior who has officially achieved going to All-Virginia Choir for the second time. After achieving the same feat last year in 2023, he worked to make it in again. Fagerland adores representing Warhill’s Fine Arts department. Representing the school’s choir was the most exciting part for him. “I am really appreciative to be representing the performing arts side of Warhill, especially for choir,” Fagerland continues, “I think it’s really important to go after the things you love to do and pursue them as far as you can.”

Fagerland also believes that you can reach your max potential when auditioning for higher programs in choir by learning and understanding not just music, but your own voice as well. “The more you learn about the voice and music in general, the more you can apply it to an audition situation to help you reach your fullest potential.” He also clarifies that you will need a lot of practice and communication to make it into a challenging program like the All-Virginia Choir. “In terms of achieving it, I would just say it takes a lot of practice and communication with vocal professionals like Ms. Evans to get the audition materials down.”

Fagerland has done an amazing job with achieving All-Virginia Choir this year and last. Facing man challenges along the way, he has persevered and committed himself to achieve this accomplishment once again, and Warhill cannot wait to see his achievements next year.
