History and Review of Polyphia

Polyphia is an American Progressive metal band from Plano, Texas, formed in 2010. Consisting of four members, guitarists Tim Henson and Scott LePage, bassist Clay Gober and drummer Clay Aeschliman. This band is known for their technical playing and unique sound in their songs. Polyphia is one of those bands that create their own style of playing, using their own original tone to do so. The genius of this band makes this one of the top-rated progressive bands in the world. The name “Polyphia” comes from the word “Polyphony,” which means music whose texture is defined by the interweaving of several melodic lines.

When the band first started, they began to experiment with using pop-funk and electronic elements in their music. This led to their first full-length album, “Muse,” being released in 2014. Their second album, “Renaissance,” was released in 2016, and continued to grow the band’s fusion of EDM/hip-hop style. On October 12, 2018, they published their third album, “New Levels, New Devils.” This release really showed the world how great and unique they really are.

In September of 2022, Polyphia released the single “Ego Death,” the fourth from their album “Remember that You Will Die”. This single featured the solo guitarist Steve Vail as one of the lead guitarists on the song. By this time, Polyphia was at its peak of fame and relevance, going on to play concerts and produce more songs. Today, they still do what they do best, and they plan to keep it that way for a long while.
